I have been wanting to make a post about "Jonathan Gullible" that relates to some earlier posts on education. I have only read excerpts from the book, but do want to have a link to the website so people interested in a Sovereign Life have this available as a resource.
This book was written in the late 80s by Ken Schoolland to illustrate the principles of economics and free market societies. You can read more about the author and the book at the website: www.jonathangullible.com.
This is not a story about pirates and treasure. It's a story about a young man that gets shipwrecked on a strange island where the people have no responsibility, and crooked bureaucrats have created a strange society with bizarre customs and laws.
"The Adventures of Jonathan Gullible: A Free Market Odyssey, has twice been revised and expanded in English (1995 & 2001) and has been translated into over 30 language editions abroad. It has been adopted and published by more than a dozen public policy institutions in as many countries."
Ken Schoolland was kind enough to allow me to post the video graphics and the animation of "The Philosophy of Liberty" in a post about social design and Sovereign Education.
Book reviews state that it has had so much success and is popular, because it illustrates complex ideas in a simple to understand manner. Books like this are tools to help you in your life journey.
Perhaps it is true that the destination is not important, and it is the distance travelled that counts. Let's hope many more sovereign individuals get fired up about the issues of self education.
